Don't get me wrong. I love my job. I love being a nurse. Although there are times that I say why did I have to be a nurse, but at the end of the day, I am thankful that I am nurse.
I am just tired of dealing with people who always complain of what they do. In the first place, they chose this path. Right? The only solution to their problem is to deal with it.
One patient's relative got into my co-trainee's nerves. That patient was my patient, too, the other day and I did not experience such actions from that relative. They did not shout at me. Yeah, they are really demanding and I do understand that, but really, I did not experience being shouted by them.
I also have this patient who is post-operative. Her left leg was amputated - below the knee to be specific. Her family is really accommodating. In short, they really are kind to me.
I just noticed that those nurses who often complain about their patients or their patients' relatives are the ones who experience being shouted at or *include more bad experiences here*.
You know what they should do: to enjoy the work and to stop complaining.
Last night, when I went home, I realized that I love my job more than my co-nurses do. That is why every time I go home, I am happy and I feel fulfilled. Just like the quote that I received: "Fulfillment is not about getting all your hopes and dreams, it's about touching other people's lives..."

I'm the kind of person who loves whatever is put on the table for her. Sometimes, I complain about my job (and my jobs in the past) but, for the most part, I quite enjoyed every single job I've had... and I like my job right now too.
ReplyDeleteI think that just because people complain about their jobs, it doesn't mean they don't love what they do. I mean, we complain about the annoying qualities of the people we love but it doesn't mean we love them any less!
Anyway, I'm glad you find your job fulfilling... that's the most important thing when it comes to having a job. Forget about the pay... it's all about whether you love your job or not.
