Here I am again blogging about my thesis...
I've noticed that I haven't blogged about my MA life lately so here's just an update. I got a 1.25 in my practicum grade last semester. It's a 16-unit subject and it costs P30k++ so I'm really happy that my parents' money plus my hard work paid off. Two weeks ago, my classmates and I took the comprehensive exam. It's an exam for MA students before enrolling for thesis 1 and 2 subjects. If they fail the exam, they are not qualified to enroll. That means, they have to wait for another semester to take the exam again. Fortunately, my classmates and I passed. We were then allowed to enroll for this semester. Not everyone enrolled for both subjects including me. I only enrolled for thesis 1 because I don't think I can implement my thesis proposal in just one semester plus the fact that I am changing my topic. Another thing is that I don't want to jeopardize my good grades because I am hoping to get an award this time.
So about my thesis, I've thought about changing my subjects from my previous research proposal. Though I don't really want to focus on diabetic patients, I have no choice but to put them as my subjects. I prefer patients with heart disease or with stroke but I am having a hard time in thinking of a nice topic. That's for my quantitative research proposal.
Just a few days ago, upon waking up from my afternoon power nap, I just had a light bulb moment. A qualitative research topic! I jotted down notes about this idea and researched about it. I knew it would be great. When I texted my professor, she said that my qualitative research topic is good but she prefers a quantitative one because I am majoring in Medical-Surgical nursing.
Now, I need to make a good draft for both research topics and show it to my professor this Saturday. We will both discuss about these two topics and we'll choose what's more workable between the two.
I really hope we'll end up with the qualitative one.
