But before that, I watched this video first to know how to use this Curlformers.
Here is a picture of the actual curlformers I received:
So anyway today, I finally tried it out.
Sorry for the poor quality of pictures.
As expected the curlformers weren't enough to cover my very thick hair... It's also too short for my medium-lengthed hair. The thing is, when you look at the official website, there are different sizes for the curlformers. The seller didn't give me an option to choose for the appropriate size for my hair. Or did I just miss anything?
According to the video, wait for 3 hours or longer to get the desired curls. I took it off after 2 hours because I feel sleepy already and I have duty later at 11 pm. I don't think I can rest well with these stuff on my head. Haha!
And the result?
There ya go. It's not as curly as expected because of the volume of my hair. It looks wavy... One important thing: you need to apply something on your hair for the curls to stay longer. My curls right now are already gone. Haha!
Will I recommend it?
No. I think it's a waste of money. Bye bye to my Php500.00 (I paid additional Php100 for the shipping fee when it should only be Php50 because I reside in Metro Manila. Hello, I am also an online seller and we have the same courier!). If you're in a hurry, better use a curling iron. If not, go check those Youtube videos about curling your hair with socks. I like its effect better. :) Plus it's way cheaper than availing this product. But if you prefer not doing all these things every single day when you feel like having a curly/wavy hair, then go for a digital perm. :)

Haha, I saw these on Facebook a while ago and thought they looked funny. I get crazy waves when I leave my hair up in a messy half-bun... I just need product to hold the waves!
ReplyDeleteAnd three hours?! What?! Who has time for that haha.
Exactly. I just wasted my money. I should have saved it na lang. =(
ReplyDeleteAww, I feel bad din whenever I spend money on something I thought I'd love but end up not liking it at all. :(
ReplyDeleteHi Xyla! :) Thanks for sharing your review on curlformers. I was actually curious about this product and even planned to buy it. Good thing I didn't.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, you can also try using hair benders. :) You can find it in Watsons, it's around 150 pesos. Not sure if the price is still the same though since I bought it a long time ago. It's really easy to use since you will just roll the hair and then twist the benders to close.
Take care and hope you had a nice weekend! ^_^
thanks for the review :) really helpful. I almost bought these at a groupbuying site. I'm glad I got to read your review first
ReplyDeleteWanted to try this too. Buti na lang you blogged about it. Siguro it's ok lang for people who need curly hair the next day so pwedeng matulog na suot yung curlyformers. Pero for those in a hurry, asa pang matapos. Haha. Kung ganun, old school rollers na lang siguro. Or the braiding the hair method. :)
ReplyDeletecurl formers are good if you actually put effort into it. You should look for stores that will sell them in different sizes. If you sleep in them they might be uncomfortable but that is the best way to get a good curl. It has worked very well for me. 3 hours is not a long enough time to get a good curl. That's why overnight is the best.
ReplyDeletealso use smaller sections of hair to get a better curl.
